Giving back to the university

Zeta Tau Alpha

After accepting a bid in Fall 2012, I had the opportunity to serve as a new member educator to the next incoming pledge class. After that, I spent a year as the apparel chair and that was my favorite position. I loved being able to design all of the t-shirts and additional sportswear for my chapter.

Diamond Dolls

For two years I served as a Diamond Doll, which is an ambassador for the Auburn Baseball team. We were considered the support system for the team. We passed out booklets and stat books at the entrance of the stadium, provided for Diamond Club members, and managed program and scoreboard sales.

Student Government Association

I was given the opportunity to serve on two committees within Student Government Association (SGA). I worked on the Campus Recreation committee and oversaw the development of the new recreation and wellness center. In addition, I served on the Academic Honesty and would assist in student academic hearings.

Big Event

As a volunteer for Big Event, a group of my sorority sisters and I got to help a local family in the community repaint the trim inside of their house. We also helped pick up leaves in their yard as well as other miscellaneous tasks. I loved being able to step outside of the university, and help other people that live in our community.

Student Alumni Association

Since I worked at the Auburn Alumni Association, it was inevitable I would join the Student Alumni Association. As a member, I would attend morale parties held before big football game weekends. I also worked concourse hours and helped pass out free t-shirts and encouraged non-members to join.

Race for the Cure

My sorority's philanthropy is "Breast Cancer Education and Awareness" and we would help out with Race for the Cure in Birmingham, Alabama. As a sorority, we helped pass out shakers and water bottles to runners. We assisted with the Survivor's Walk and served as a general morale for the race.
